During this semester I learned on how to write different essays in ways I haven’t tried before in previous years. For the language and literacy essay, I learned to think back on past experiences to help me figure out how it connects with the language and literacy theme. It made me think about how my environment and experiences have influenced my ability in language and literacy. For the rhetorical argument essay, I learned to analyze texts, look for rhetorical strategies, research about the authors and search for details to write an analysis for the text readings. I also learned to pay attention to smaller details and deep more about what the author is trying to pass on to the reader. The research paper was one that I did recently, and that assignment made me learn how to research for multiple texts and think to analyze them and find more about the authors and their backgrounds. I also learned how to use the MLA format to cite work. Learning how to properly cite sources would be very useful for citing texts for other classes in the future.

                  Overall, this semester was a very essential in trying to grow as a writer as I learned many new ways of writing different types of essays to research.
